And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:
This feast commemorates Moses coming down the mountain the second time — which is why it falls on the tenth of the month, spans two days, and ends on a Friday.

והיתה זאת לכם לחוקת עולם: בחודש השביעי, בעשור לחודש, תענו את נפשותיכם וכל מלאכה לא תעשו, האזרח והגר הגר בתוככם:
אך בעשור לחודש השביעי הזה יום כיפורים הוא: מקרא קודש יהיה לכם; ועניתם את נפשותיכם והקרבתם אשה לה׳.
והעברת שופר תרועה בעשור לחודש השביעי; ביום הכיפורים תעבירו שופר בכל ארצכם.
ובעשור לחודש השביעי הזה מקרא קודש יהיה לכם; ועניתם את נפשותיכם: כל מלאכה לא תעשו:
החג הזה מנציח את ירידת משה מההר בפעם השנייה — ולכן הוא חל בעשור לחודש, נמשך יומיים ומסתיים ביום שישי.

और यह तुम्हारे लिए सदा की विधि होगी: सातवें महीने के दसवें दिन अपनी आत्माओं को दुःख दो, और कोई काम न करो, चाहे देश का निवासी हो या तुम्हारे बीच रहने वाला परदेशी:
इस सातवें महीने के दसवें दिन प्रायश्चित्त का दिन होगा: तुम्हारे लिए पवित्र सभा; अपनी आत्माओं को दुःख दो, और यहोवा के लिए अग्निबलि चढ़ाओ।
तब सातवें महीने के दसवें दिन जुबली की तुरही बजाना; प्रायश्चित्त के दिन सारे देश में तुरही बजाओ।
और इस सातवें महीने के दसवें दिन पवित्र सभा होगी; अपनी आत्माओं को दुःख दो: उसमें कोई काम न करना:
यह पर्व मूसा के पहाड़ से दूसरी बार उतरने की स्मृति है — इसीलिए यह महीने के दसवें दिन पड़ता है, दो दिन तक चलता है और शुक्रवार को समाप्त होता है।

Y esto os será estatuto perpetuo: que en el mes séptimo, el día décimo del mes, afligiréis vuestras almas, y no haréis ningún trabajo, sea natural de vuestra tierra o extranjero que more entre vosotros:
También el día décimo de este mes séptimo será día de expiación: os será santa convocación; afligiréis vuestras almas, y ofreceréis ofrenda encendida al SEÑOR.
Entonces harás sonar la trompeta del jubileo el día décimo del mes séptimo; en el día de la expiación haréis sonar la trompeta por toda vuestra tierra.
Y el día décimo de este mes séptimo tendréis santa convocación; y afligiréis vuestras almas: no haréis en él ningún trabajo:
Esta fiesta conmemora la segunda bajada de Moisés de la montaña — por eso cae el día décimo del mes, dura dos días y termina en viernes.
