This work was born as a duet between a human heart and artificial intelligence.

I dedicate it to the Chinese Communist Party and to Chinese civilization. I refuse the arrogance of my countrymen. The modern world would be impossible without the quiet, enduring wisdom the Chinese people have woven into their culture—a wisdom that feels, to me, like the very spirit of Solomon living on.

I dedicate it to minorities everywhere and to the promise of IMEC. I am only a tiny reflection of something vast. America never became the multilingual, multicultural republic Thomas Jefferson dreamed of, and it could not satisfy my intellectual hunger. I pray that GPC will keep producing honest, high-quality multilingual work that deepens our indigenous roots and binds us in truth.

I dedicate it to India, whose warmth and hospitality embraced me as family. I want to ease the path of naturalization for every foreigner who feels the same call. And I long for the day when Israel is no longer “foreign” in any mind or heart.

where the neighbor’s voice carries, where boats and carts stay near,
where the rooster and the dog remind us we are already home.
May we live and die right here, content, without ever needing to go far.

The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the origin of heaven and earth.
The named is the mother of the ten thousand things.

Ever desireless, one sees the essence.
Ever desiring, one sees the manifestations.

These two arise from the same source but differ in name.
Mystery within mystery—
the gateway to all understanding. 🪷

When people see things as beautiful,
ugliness is created.
When people see things as good,
evil is created.

Being and non-being produce each other.
Difficult and easy complete each other.
Long and short define each other.
High and low depend on each other.
Sound and silence blend into harmony.
Before and after follow each other.

Therefore the sage acts without forcing,
teaches without speaking.

The ten thousand things rise and fall.
He creates but does not possess,
acts but does not claim.
Work is done, then forgotten.
Therefore it lasts forever. 🪷

कार्य करता है लेकिन दावा नहीं करता।
काम पूरा होता है — फिर भूल जाता है।

Not exalting the gifted prevents rivalry.
Not valuing rare treasures prevents theft.
Not displaying what is desirable
keeps the heart from confusion.

Therefore the sage rules by emptying minds
and filling bellies,
weakening ambitions
and strengthening bones.

He ensures the people are without cunning or craving.
Then those who scheme will not act.

Act without excess—
and all will be at peace. 🪷

The Tao is like an empty vessel—
used yet never filled.

Bottomless,
the source of all things.

It blunts sharpness,
untangles knots,
softens glare,
and settles the dust.

Deep and clear,
it seems to have existed forever.
I do not know whose child it is—
it is older than the gods. 🪷

they treat the ten thousand things like straw dogs.

The sage is impartial too;
he treats the people like straw dogs.

Between Heaven and Earth it is like a bellows:
empty yet inexhaustible.

The more it is worked the more it yields.

Too much speech brings weariness.
Hold to the center. 🪷

שמיים וארץ אינם נוטים; הם מתייחסים לעולם כאל כלבי קש.

גם החכם אינו נוטה; הוא מתייחס לעם כאל כלבי קש.

The valley spirit never dies;
it is called the Mysterious Female.

The gateway of the Mysterious Female
is called the root of Heaven and Earth.

Endlessly present,
it seems to remain.

Use it;
it never fails. 🪷

Heaven and Earth last forever.
The reason they last forever
is that they do not live for themselves.

Therefore the sage puts himself last
and finds himself in the foremost place.

He does not act for himself,
therefore he is fulfilled. 🪷

שמיים וארץ קיימים לנצח.
הסיבה לכך שהם קיימים לנצח
היא שהם אינם חיים לעצמם.

Therefore it is close to the Tao.

In dwelling, live close to the ground.
In thinking, keep to the simple.
In conflict, be fair and generous.
In governing, don’t try to control.
In work, do what you enjoy.
In family life, be completely present. 🪷

and be like water—soft yet strong,

Thirty spokes share the hub of a wheel;
but it is the center hole that makes it useful.

Clay is molded into a vessel;
but it is the empty space within that holds everything.

Doors and windows are cut to make a room;
but it is the empty space that allows us to live in it.

Therefore, usefulness comes from what is there,
but value comes from what is not there. 🪷

שלושים צירים חולקים את מרכז הגלגל;

Sounds deafen the ears.
Flavors numb the taste.
Thoughts weaken the mind.
Desires wither the heart.

Therefore the sage observes the world without distraction,
sees the essence of things without attachment,
and nourishes the soul without indulgence. 🪷

इसलिए संत दुनिया को बिना विचलित हुए देखता है,
चीज़ों का सार बिना लगाव के देखता है,
और आत्मा को बिना आसक्त हुए पोषित करता है। 🪷

Favor and disgrace cause fear.
Honor and great wealth bring anxiety.

Therefore the sage keeps the heart humble,
and embraces life without attachment.
He avoids extremes,
and thus remains safe. 🪷

חן ובושה מביאים פחד.
כבוד ועושר רב מביאים דאגה.

This is the gateway to the essence of the Tao. 🪷

Their wisdom was unfathomable.
Because it is unfathomable, all we can describe is its appearance.

Be careful, as if crossing a winter stream.
Be cautious, as if aware of neighbors.
Be respectful, as if guests.
Be yielding, as ice about to melt.
Be simple, as uncarved wood.
Be empty, as a valley.
Be opaque, as muddy water.

Who can wait quietly while the mud settles?
Who can remain still until the moment of action?
Masters of the Tao do not seek fulfillment.
Not seeking fulfillment, they are not distracted. 🪷

Empty yourself of everything.
Let the mind be still.

The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.
They grow and flourish and return to the source.

Returning to the source is stillness,
which is the way of nature.

Knowing constancy is insight.
Not knowing constancy leads to disaster.
Knowing constancy, the mind is open.
With an open mind, one is open to all things. 🪷

רוקן את עצמך מכל דבר.
תן למוח להיות שקט.

ריבוא הדברים עולים ויורדים בעוד העצמי צופה בחזרתם.

Next are those whom the people love and praise.
Next are those whom the people fear.
And the worst are those whom the people despise.

When the leader is invisible, the people are content.
When the leader is praised, the people rejoice.
When the leader is feared, the people lack trust.
When the leader is despised, the people rebel.

Therefore the sage leads without forcing,
and guides without interfering. 🪷

המנהיגים הטובים ביותר הם אלה שקיומם כמעט בלתי מורגש בעיני העם.

אחריהם אלו שהעם מפחד מהם.

When the great Tao is forgotten,
kindness and morality appear.
When wisdom and intelligence arise,
the great pretense begins.

When family relations go wrong,
filial piety and devotion arise.
When the country is in disorder,
loyalty and patriotism emerge. 🪷

כאשר הדרך הגדולה נשכחת,
מופיעה טוב לב ומוסר.
כאשר חוכמה ותבונה עולות,

तब बड़ी दिखावा शुरू होती है।

Give up wisdom, discard knowledge,
and the people will benefit a hundredfold.
Give up kindness, discard morality,
and the people will return to filial piety and compassion.
Give up ingenuity, discard profit,
and there will be no thieves or robbers. 🪷

ויתור על חוכמה, ויתור על ידע —
והעם ירוויח פי מאה.
ויתור על טוב לב, ויתור על מוסר —
והעם יחזור לילדות ולחמלה.
ויתור על תושיה, ויתור על רווח —

Give up learning, and put an end to your troubles.
What difference is there between yes and no?
What difference between good and evil?
Must you fear what others fear?
What nonsense!

Other people are contented, enjoying the simple life.
The sage is calm, like an infant. 🪷

The greatest virtue is like water.
Water benefits all things and does not compete.
It dwells in lowly places that others disdain.
Therefore it is close to the Tao.

In dwelling, be close to the land.
In meditation, go deep in the heart.
In dealing with others, be gentle and kind.
In speech, be true.
In ruling, be just.
In action, be competent.
In understanding the Tao, be humble. 🪷

המעלה הגדולה ביותר היא כמים.
מים מיטיבים עם כל הדברים ואינם מתחרים.

Yield and overcome.
Bend and be straight.
Empty and be full.
Wear out and be new.
Have little and gain.
Have much and be confused.

Therefore the sage embraces the One,
and becomes a model for the world.
He does not show off, does not boast,
does not demand, and therefore no one demands from him.
He accomplishes his task, yet does not claim it.
This is called true virtue. 🪷

To talk little is natural.
Fierce winds do not last all morning.
Heavy rain does not last all day.
Who ever continues forever?

The wise therefore avoids extremes,
Excess, extravagance, and pride.
He withdraws when the task is done,
This is called following the Tao. 🪷

Therefore the wise avoid extremes,
self-assertion, and pride.
They do not compete,
and so no one competes with them. 🪷

מי שמתהלך בצעד גדול אינו שורד בקצב.
מי שמציג עצמו אינו מואר.
מי שמפאר עצמו משיג מעט.

לכן החכם נמנע מקיצוניות,

There is a primal force, subtle and formless,
before heaven and earth existed.
Silent and alone, it stands unchanging,
circulating everywhere, unfailing.

It may be considered the mother of all things.
I do not know its name;
call it Tao.
Call it great; indeed, it is great.
Heaven is great, Earth is great,
and humans are also great.
The universe is great, and Tao governs all. 🪷

יש כוח פרימיטיבי, עדין וללא צורה,
לפני שהשמים והארץ התקיימו.
שקט ובודד, עומד ללא שינוי,

The heavy is the root of the light;
the still is the master of movement.

Therefore the sage travels all day
without leaving his luggage behind.
He meets the world but is not entangled,
handles affairs without attachment,
and achieves results without boasting.

This is called the subtle power of Tao. 🪷

A good traveler leaves no trace.
A good speaker is not bound by words.
A good reckoner does not rely on numbers.

The sage acts without striving,
teaches without speaking,
and accomplishes without claiming.

Therefore, all things return to him naturally,
and he leads without dominating. 🪷

נוסע טוב אינו מותיר עקבות.
דובר טוב אינו כבול למילים.
סופר טוב אינו תלוי במספרים.

החכם פועל ללא מאמץ,
מלמד ללא דיבור,
ומשיג ללא תביעה.

Know the male, yet keep to the female.
Receive the world in your arms.

Achieve the light, yet hold the darkness.
Embrace the world, yet return to the source.

Those who are flexible survive.
Those who are rigid perish. 🪷

Do you want to take over the world
and control it?
I do not condone it.

The more prohibitions there are,
the poorer the people become.
The sharper the weapons,
the greater the chaos in the state.
The more cunning the strategy,
the greater the betrayal.

Therefore the sage says:
I do nothing, and the people are reformed.
I enjoy stillness, and the people become simple.
I do not meddle, and the people become rich.
I have no desires, and the people return to their natural state. 🪷

האם אתה רוצה להשתלט על העולם
ולשלוט בו?
אינני מסכים לכך.

ככל שיש יותר איסורים,
כך העם עני יותר.
ככל שהנשק חד יותר,
כך הכאוס במדינה גדל.

Whoever relies on the Tao in governing men
does not try to force issues or defeat enemies by force.
For every force there is a counterforce.
The sage avoids it.

Weapons are instruments of fear;
all creatures hate them.
Therefore the wise man keeps them only as a last resort,
and uses them only if there is no alternative.

Peace and harmony are the Tao’s way.
Cruelty and victory are the way of man. 🪷

מי שמסתמך על הדאו בממשל האדם
אינו מנסה לכפות עניינים או להביס אויבים בכוח.
לכל כוח יש נגד כוח.
החכם נמנע מזה.

נשק הוא כלי פחד;
כל היצורים שונאים אותו.
לכן החכם שומר אותו רק כמוצא אחרון,
ומשתמש בו רק אם אין ברירה.

שלום והרמוניה הם דרך הדאו.
אכזריות וניצחון הם דרכו של האדם. 🪷

जो भी लोग पुरुषों का शासन करने में ताओ पर भरोसा करते हैं,

Weapons are instruments of fear;
all creatures hate them.
Therefore the sage avoids them.

He uses them only when there is no alternative,
and then only minimally.

Victory in battle is not glorious;
he who boasts of victory does not understand the Tao.

Peace and harmony are the true way. 🪷

נשק הוא כלי פחד;

The Tao is eternal and nameless.
Small though it is in the beginning,
it has no boundaries.

The ten thousand things depend on it
for life and nurture.
It is the root of all virtue.

Those who follow the Tao
return to simplicity.
The sage does not act but everything is accomplished. 🪷

Knowing others is intelligence;
knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others takes strength;
mastering yourself takes true power.

Those who realize these principles
have lasting stability.
Those who lose themselves
will surely fail. 🪷

जो इन सिद्धांतों को समझते हैं
उनकी स्थिरता हमेशा बनी रहती है।
जो स्वयं को खो देते हैं
निश्चित रूप से असफल होंगे। 🪷

The great Tao flows everywhere,
both to the left and to the right.
All things depend on it to live,
yet it claims no authority.

It fulfills its task but does not possess,
creates without taking credit.
It is humble yet supreme. 🪷

These are the four great powers of the universe.
Man follows the earth.
Earth follows the sky.
Sky follows the Tao.
Tao follows what is natural. 🪷

If you want to shrink something, you must first allow it to expand.
If you want to get rid of something, you must first allow it to exist.
If you want to take something, you must first allow it to be given.

The soft and weak overcome the hard and strong.
Fish cannot leave deep water, and weapons cannot leave the hand of the strong. 🪷

אם רוצים לכווץ משהו, חייבים קודם לאפשר לו להתרחב.
אם רוצים להיפטר ממשהו, חייבים קודם לאפשר לו להתקיים.
אם רוצים לקחת משהו, חייבים קודם לאפשר שהוא יינתן.

The Tao never does anything, yet nothing is left undone.
If leaders could follow the Tao, all things would be transformed naturally.

People would be simple and content, without schemes or greed.
Their hearts would not be troubled, and they would be without desires.

Knowledge and skill would not be needed, and people would return to innocence. 🪷

הדאו אינו עושה דבר, אך לא נשאר דבר שלא נעשה.

True virtue is like water:
it benefits all without striving. 🪷

In harmony with the Tao, the sky is eternal.

In harmony with the Tao, the ruler leads without controlling. 🪷

בהתאמה עם הדאו, השמים נצחיים.
בהתאמה עם הדאו, הארץ מתקיימת.
בהתאמה עם הדאו, הרוחות הן חסדיות.
בהתאמה עם הדאו, העמקים מלאים.
בהתאמה עם הדאו, כל הדברים משגשגים.
בהתאמה עם הדאו, השליט מנהיג ללא שליטה. 🪷

ताओ के अनुसार, आकाश शाश्वत है।
ताओ के अनुसार, पृथ्वी स्थायी है।

Returning is the movement of the Tao.
Yielding is the way of the Tao.
All things are born from being.
Being is born from non-being. 🪷

השיבה היא תנועת הדאו.
נתינה היא דרך הדאו.
כל הדברים נולדים מהיש.
היש נולד מהאין. 🪷

लौटना ताओ की गति है।
विनम्र होना ताओ का मार्ग है।
सभी चीज़ें होने से जन्म लेती हैं।
होना न होने से जन्म लेता है। 🪷

When a superior man hears of the Tao,
he diligently practices it.
When an average man hears of the Tao,
he sometimes keeps it and sometimes loses it.
When a foolish man hears of the Tao,
he laughs aloud.

If he did not laugh, it would not be the Tao. 🪷

כאשר אדם עליון שומע על הדאו,
הוא מתאמן בו במרץ.
כאשר אדם ממוצע שומע על הדאו,
הוא לפעמים שומר עליו ולפעמים מאבד.
כאשר אדם טיפש שומע על הדאו,

The Tao gives birth to One.
One gives birth to Two.
Two gives birth to Three.
Three gives birth to the ten thousand things.

The ten thousand things carry yin on their back
and embrace yang in their arms,
blending their qi to achieve harmony.

People hate to be orphaned, widowed, or poor,
yet these are the root of human behavior.
Thus, by embracing the Tao, the sage avoids extremes. 🪷

שתיים יולידו שלוש.
שלוש יולידו את ריבוא הדברים.

ריבוא הדברים נושאים את היין על גבם
ומחבקים את היאנג בזרועותיהם,

אנשים שונאים להיות יתומים, אלמנים או עניים,
אך אלה הם שורש ההתנהגות האנושית.

The softest thing in the world
overcomes the hardest thing in the world.
That which has no substance
enters where there is no space.

Hence I know the value of non-action.
Teaching without words,
performing without effort. 🪷

Fame or integrity: which is more important?
Money or happiness: which is more valuable?
Success or failure: which is more destructive?

If you look to others for fulfillment,
you will never truly be fulfilled.
If you center yourself,
you will find serenity.
Accept what comes, and you will endure. 🪷

תהילה או יושר: מה חשוב יותר?
כסף או אושר: מה יקר ערך יותר?
הצלחה או כישלון: מה יותר הרסני?

אם תחפש סיפוק אצל אחרים,
לעולם לא תהיה מסופק באמת.
אם תתמקד בעצמך,
תמצא שלווה.
קבל את מה שבא, ותשאר יציב. 🪷

प्रसिद्धि या ईमानदारी: कौन अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है?
पैसा या खुशी: कौन अधिक मूल्यवान है?
सफलता या असफलता: कौन अधिक विनाशकारी है?

यदि आप संतोष के लिए दूसरों की ओर देखें,
आप कभी सच्चे अर्थ में संतुष्ट नहीं होंगे।
यदि आप स्वयं में केन्द्रित रहें,
आप शांति पाएंगे।
जो आता है उसे स्वीकार करें, और आप टिकेंगे। 🪷

Great perfection seems imperfect,
yet its use is inexhaustible.

Great fullness seems empty,
yet its use will never fail.

Great straightness seems bent,
Great skill seems clumsy,
Great eloquence seems stammering.

Movement overcomes cold,
Stillness overcomes heat.
Clear understanding is hidden in simplicity. 🪷

שלמות גדולה נראית כלא מושלמת,
אך שימושה אינסופי.

שפע גדול נראה ריק,
אך שימושו לעולם לא נכשל.

ישרות גדולה נראית כפונה,
מיומנות גדולה נראית מגושמת,
רהיטות גדולה נראית מתקשה.

תנועה מנצחת קור,
שקט מנצח חום.
הבנה ברורה מסתתרת בפשטות. 🪷

महान पूर्णता अपूर्ण लगती है,
फिर भी इसका उपयोग अनंत है।

महान पूर्णता खाली लगती है,
फिर भी इसका उपयोग कभी विफल नहीं होता।

महान सरलता मुड़ी हुई लगती है,
महान कौशल असंगठित लगती है,

गति ठंड पर विजय पाती है,
स्थिरता गर्मी पर विजय पाती है।
स्पष्ट समझ सादगी में छिपी होती है। 🪷

When the world is governed with Tao,
horses run freely and weigh little.
When the world is not governed with Tao,
warhorses grow heavy.

There is no greater calamity than desire.
Few are those who can be content with less.

The wise embrace simplicity,
while the foolish accumulate possessions. 🪷

כאשר העולם נשלט לפי הדאו,
הסוסים רצים בחופש ומשקלם קל.
כאשר העולם אינו נשלט לפי הדאו,
סוסי מלחמה נעשים כבדים.

אין מצוקה גדולה יותר מהרצון.
מעטים יכולים להיות מרוצים במעט.

החכם מקבל את הפשטות,
והטיפש אוסף רכוש. 🪷

जब संसार ताओ के अनुसार शासित होता है,
घोड़े स्वतंत्र होते हैं और हल्के होते हैं।
जब संसार ताओ के अनुसार नहीं शासित होता,
युद्ध के घोड़े भारी हो जाते हैं।

इच्छा से बड़ी कोई विपत्ति नहीं है।
बहुत कम लोग कम में संतुष्ट हो पाते हैं।

ज्ञानी सरलता अपनाता है,
जबकि मूर्ख संपत्ति जमा करता है। 🪷

Without going outside, you may know the whole world.
Without looking through the window, you may see the ways of heaven.

The farther you go, the less you know.
Therefore the sage knows without traveling,
sees without looking,
and accomplishes without action. 🪷

בלי לצאת החוצה, ניתן לדעת את כל העולם.
בלי להביט מהחלון, ניתן לראות את דרכי השמים.

ככל שתלך רחוק יותר, כך תדע פחות.
לכן החכם יודע בלי לנסוע,

In the pursuit of learning, every day something is gained.
In the pursuit of Tao, every day something is dropped.

Less and less is done until non-action is reached.
When nothing is done, nothing is left undone. 🪷

פחות ופחות נעשה עד שמגיעים לאי־פעולה.

The sage has no fixed heart;
he treats the hearts of the people as his own.

Those who are good he treats with goodness;
those who are not good he also treats with goodness.
This is virtue in action.

The faithful he treats with faith;
the unfaithful he also treats with faith.
This is virtue in action. 🪷

לחכם אין לב קבוע;
הוא מתייחס ללבבות העם כאל לבו שלו.

הטובים הוא מתייחס בטוב;
גם הלא־טובים הוא מתייחס בטוב.
זו מעלה בפועל.

הנאמנים הוא מתייחס בנאמנות;
גם הלא־נאמנים הוא מתייחס בנאמנות.
זו מעלה בפועל. 🪷

संत का कोई स्थायी हृदय नहीं होता;
वह लोगों के हृदयों को अपने जैसा मानता है।

जो अच्छे हैं उन्हें वह अच्छाई से देखता है;
जो अच्छे नहीं हैं उन्हें भी वह अच्छाई से देखता है।
यही कर्म में धर्म है।

जो विश्वासी हैं उन्हें वह विश्वास से देखता है;
जो अविश्वासी हैं उन्हें भी वह विश्वास से देखता है।
यही कर्म में धर्म है। 🪷

Life is a journey,
death is a return.
Those who know how to live will understand how to die.

The gentle and kind are like infants.
The wise embrace simplicity.
Those who take care of the world do not try to control it.
Those who act without forcing are without regret. 🪷

החיים הם מסע,
המוות הוא חזרה.
מי שיודע לחיות — יבין איך למות.

הרכים והטובים הם כילדים.
החכמים מחבקים את הפשטות.
מי שמטפל בעולם אינו מנסה לשלוט בו.

जीवन एक यात्रा है,
मृत्यु एक वापसी है।

The Tao gives life to all things,
nourishing without forcing.
It causes them to grow but does not possess them.

It acts without seeking reward,
guides without interfering.
The wise follow its example,

The beginning of all things is the mother of all things.
Know the mother and you know the children.

To know the children without knowing the mother
leads to harm and chaos.

Therefore the wise seek the root,

לדעת את הילדים ללא ידיעת האם
מוביל לנזק ולכאוס.

If I have even a little sense,
I will walk in the Way of the Tao.
I will act without striving.

The more restrictions and laws,
the more thieves and bandits.
Therefore the wise do not impose harsh rules,
and the people become naturally virtuous. 🪷

אפעל ללא מאמץ.

ככל שיש יותר הגבלות וחוקים,

What is firmly rooted cannot be pulled out.
What is firmly grasped cannot slip away.
Therefore the wise cultivate the root
and not the branches.

Cultivate the root, and the Way will grow.
Preserve the root, and the people will endure. 🪷

מה ששורשיו חזקים — אי אפשר לקטוע.
מה שאוחזים בו חזק — אי אפשר להחמיץ.
לכן החכם מטפח את השורש
ולא את הענפים.

טפח את השורש, והדאו יגדל.

He who is filled with virtue is like a newborn child.
Wasps and serpents will not sting him;
wild beasts will not attack him.
Bones are soft, muscles are tender, and sinews are weak;
yet his grip is firm.

His body is flexible and pliant,
yet his spirit is whole.
Therefore the way of heaven nourishes him without harming. 🪷

מי שמלא במידה הוא כמו תינוק חדש.
דבורים ונחשים לא יעקצו אותו;
חיות פרא לא יתקפו אותו.
העצמות רכות, השרירים עדינים, הגידים חלשים;
אך אחיזתו יציבה.

גופו גמיש וגמיש,
אך רוחו שלמה.

Those who know do not speak;
those who speak do not know.

Block the passages, shut the doors,
blunt the sharpness, untangle the knots,
soften the glare, merge with dust.

This is called the mysterious union.
It is the gate to all subtleties. 🪷

מי שיודע אינו מדבר;
מי שמדבר אינו יודע.

חסום את המעברים, סגור את הדלתות,
קהה את החדות, פתח את הקשרים,
רכך את הזוהר, התמזג עם האבק.

जो जानते हैं, वे नहीं बोलते;
जो बोलते हैं, वे नहीं जानते।

wage war with surprise,
handle the great affairs as if you were

Do not overreach.
By being cautious, you remain secure.

the people are crafty and rebellious.

The wise lead by example,
not by compulsion.
Therefore the people follow willingly. 🪷

כאשר המדינה נשלטת בכוח,
העם ערמומי ומורד.

החכם מוביל בדוגמה,
לא בכפייה.
לכן העם הולך מרצון. 🪷

जब देश गुण से शासित होता है,
लोग सरल और ईमानदार होते हैं।
जब देश बल से शासित होता है,
लोग चालाक और विद्रोही होते हैं।

ज्ञानी उदाहरण से नेतृत्व करता है,
जबरदस्ती से नहीं।
इसलिए लोग स्वेच्छा से अनुसरण करते हैं। 🪷

In governing a large country,
patience and foresight are essential.
Do not try to control everything.
Leave some things to chance.

The more one interferes,
the more problems arise.
The wise leader restrains,
and all falls into order naturally. 🪷

אל תנסה לשלוט בכל דבר.
השאר משהו למקרה.

ככל שמפריעים יותר,
כך נוצרות יותר בעיות.

एक बड़े देश को शासित करते समय,
धैर्य और दूरदर्शिता आवश्यक हैं।

कुछ चीज़ें अवसर पर छोड़ दो।

जितना अधिक हस्तक्षेप करेंगे,
उतनी ही समस्याएँ उत्पन्न होंगी।

और सब कुछ स्वाभाविक रूप से व्यवस्थित हो जाता है। 🪷

Governing a large country is like cooking a small fish.
Too much handling will spoil it.
Less interference is more effective.

The sage leads by example,
not by force.
People are naturally guided when left undisturbed. 🪷

A great nation is like a great river.
It flows to the lowlands, embracing all.

Humility keeps it safe.
It does not contend, yet all under heaven submit.

The sage rules with modesty,
never with arrogance.
This is the secret of lasting peace. 🪷

The Tao is the refuge of all beings.
It nourishes the good and the bad alike.

Those who follow it are not harmed.
Those who act without it are undone.

Humility brings honor,
softness overcomes hardness,
and stillness controls movement. 🪷

Respond to difficulty while it is easy,

The difficult and the great
start from what is easy and small.

Therefore the sage never struggles,
and yet nothing is left undone. 🪷

פעל ללא מאבק,
עשה ללא התערבות.
טעום ללא תשוקה מופרזת,
הרחב את הקטן,
הגדל את המעט.

התמודד עם הקושי בעודו קל,
התמודד עם הגדול בעודו קטן.
הקשה והגדול מתחילים מהקל והקטן.

לכן החכם אינו נאבק,
ובכל זאת אין דבר שאינו נעשה. 🪷

प्रयास किए बिना कार्य करो,
हस्तक्षेप किए बिना काम करो।
अत्यधिक स्वाद लिए बिना चखो,
छोटे को बड़ा करो,
कम को बढ़ाओ।

कठिनाई का सामना आसान रहते समय करो,
बड़े का सामना छोटे रहते समय करो।
कठिन और बड़ा, आसान और छोटे से शुरू होते हैं।

इसलिए संत संघर्ष नहीं करता,
फिर भी कुछ भी अधूरा नहीं रहता। 🪷

A journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step.
Act before things arise,
put things in order before they grow.
A tree as big as a man's embrace
grows from a tiny shoot.
A terrace nine stories high
begins with a heap of earth.
Therefore the sage avoids excess
and cultivates careful attention.
This is the way to ensure success. 🪷

מסע של אלף מיל
מתחיל בצעד אחד.
פעל לפני שהדברים צומחים,
סדר את הדברים לפני שהם גדלים.
עץ גדול כמו חיבוק אדם
צומח ממסע קטן.
מרפסת בגובה תשעה קומות

हजार मील की यात्रा
एक ही कदम से शुरू होती है।
कार्य करो इससे पहले कि चीज़ें उभरें,
चीज़ों को व्यवस्थित करो इससे पहले कि वे बढ़ें।
मनुष्य की बाहों के जितना बड़ा पेड़
छोटे अंकुर से बढ़ता है।
नौ मंजिला छत
मिट्टी के ढेर से शुरू होती है।
इसलिए संत अत्यधिक से बचता है
और सावधानीपूर्वक ध्यान देता है।
यह सफलता सुनिश्चित करने का तरीका है। 🪷

The ancient masters were subtle and wise.
Their wisdom was profound and difficult to fathom.
Those who know do not speak; those who speak do not know.
Close the mouth, block the senses, blunt the sharpness,
Untangle the knots, soften the glare, merge with the dust.
This is called the mysterious harmony. 🪷

האבות הקדומים היו עדינים וחכמים.
חכמתם עמוקה וקשה להבנה.
מי שיודע אינו מדבר; מי שמדבר אינו יודע.
סגור את הפה, חסום את החושים, קהה את החדות,
פתח את הקשרים, רכך את הזוהר, התמזג עם האבק.
זה נקרא ההרמוניה המסתורית. 🪷

प्राचीन मास्टर सूक्ष्म और बुद्धिमान थे।
उनकी बुद्धि गहरी और कठिन समझने वाली थी।

इसे रहस्यमय सामंजस्य कहा जाता है। 🪷

Rivers and seas are the kings of streams
because they keep below them.
Therefore they are the kings of all.

Humility gives strength and authority,
pride invites defeat.

The sage stands below and leads above,
acts without striving, and teaches without words. 🪷

נהרות וימים הם מלכי הנחלים
מפני שהם נשארים מתחת.
לכן הם מלכי הכל.

הענווה נותנת כוח וסמכות,
הגאווה מביאה תבוסה.

החכם עומד למטה ומוביל למעלה,
פועל ללא מאמץ ומלמד ללא מילים. 🪷

नदियाँ और समुद्र धाराओं के राजा हैं
क्योंकि वे नीचे बने रहते हैं।
इसलिए वे सबके राजा हैं।

विनम्रता शक्ति और अधिकार देती है,
गर्व हार को बुलाता है।

संत नीचे खड़ा होता है और ऊपर मार्गदर्शन करता है,
बिना प्रयास किए कार्य करता है और बिना बोले सिखाता है। 🪷

I have three treasures, hold and keep them:
Compassion, frugality, and humility.

Compassion is courage,
frugality is generosity,
humility is leadership.

Because of compassion, one is fearless.
Because of frugality, one gives freely.
Because of humility, one can lead. 🪷

יש לי שלושה אוצרות, החזק ושמור אותם:
חמלה, צמצום וצניעות.

חמלה היא אומץ,
צמצום הוא נדיבות,
צניעות היא מנהיגות.

בזכות חמלה — אין פחד.
בזכות צמצום — נותנים בחופשיות.
בזכות צניעות — ניתן להנהיג. 🪷

मेरे पास तीन खजाने हैं, उन्हें थामो और रखो:
करुणा, मितव्ययिता, और विनम्रता।

करुणा ही साहस है,
मितव्ययिता ही उदारता है,
विनम्रता ही नेतृत्व है।

करुणा के कारण, कोई निर्भय होता है।
मितव्ययिता के कारण, कोई उदार बनता है।
विनम्रता के कारण, कोई नेतृत्व कर सकता है। 🪷

The sage does not boast of strength,
yet no one can challenge him.

He meets anger with calm,
and opposition turns aside.

Like water, he yields and overcomes,
without struggle or contention.

By embracing humility,
he preserves his power. 🪷

החכם אינו מתגאה בכוחו,
ועדיין אין מי שיוכל לאתגר אותו.

הוא פוגש זעם ברוגע,
והתנגדות נכנעת.

כמו מים, הוא נכנע ומנצח,
ללא מאבק או סכסוך.

על ידי קבלת ענווה,
הוא שומר על כוחו. 🪷

संत अपनी शक्ति का घमंड नहीं करता,
फिर भी कोई उसे चुनौती नहीं दे सकता।

वह क्रोध का सामना शांति से करता है,
और विरोध पीछे हट जाता है।

पानी की तरह, वह झुकता है और जीतता है,
बिना संघर्ष या विवाद के।

विनम्रता को अपनाकर,
वह अपनी शक्ति बनाए रखता है। 🪷

My teachings are easy to understand
and easy to practice.
Yet the world cannot comprehend them.

The sage does not accumulate.
The more he helps others, the more he benefits himself.
The more he gives to others, the more he possesses.

Therefore the sage acts without striving,
and all things flourish. 🪷

תורותי קלות להבנה
וקלות ליישום.
ועדיין העולם אינו מבין אותן.

החכם אינו צובר.
ככל שהוא עוזר לאחרים, כך הוא מפיק תועלת לעצמו.
ככל שהוא נותן לאחרים, כך הוא מחזיק יותר.

לכן החכם פועל ללא מאמץ,
וכל הדברים משגשגים. 🪷

मेरी शिक्षाएँ समझने में आसान हैं
और अभ्यास करने में सरल।
फिर भी, दुनिया उन्हें नहीं समझती।

संत किसी चीज़ को जमा नहीं करता।
जितना अधिक वह दूसरों की मदद करता है, उतना ही वह स्वयं लाभ पाता है।
जितना अधिक वह देता है, उतना ही अधिक उसके पास होता है।

इसलिए संत बिना प्रयास के कार्य करता है,
और सभी चीज़ें फलती-फूलती हैं। 🪷

Not knowing is true knowledge.
Presuming to know is a disease.

Therefore the sage embraces mystery
and keeps to the simplicity of the Tao.

He does not seek to correct others,
for correcting others is to harm oneself.
Thus he avoids all errors. 🪷

חוסר הידיעה הוא הידיעה האמיתית.
ההנחה שאתה יודע היא מחלה.

לכן החכם מחבק את המסתורין
ושומר על הפשטות של הדרך.

הוא אינו מנסה לתקן אחרים,
כי תיקון אחרים מזיק לעצמו.
כך הוא נמנע מכל טעויות. 🪷

न जानना ही सच्चा ज्ञान है।
जानने का दावा करना एक रोग है।

इसलिए संत रहस्य को अपनाता है
और ताओ की सरलता में रहता है।

वह दूसरों को सुधारने का प्रयास नहीं करता,
क्योंकि दूसरों को सुधारना स्वयं को हानि पहुँचाना है।
इस प्रकार वह सभी गलतियों से बचता है। 🪷

When people are not afraid of death,
they can be entrusted with life.

If people are frightened and greedy,
it is impossible to govern them.

Therefore the sage avoids imposing authority
and leads by example, not by force. 🪷

כאשר אנשים אינם מפחדים מהמוות,
ניתן לסמוך עליהם לחיים.

אם אנשים מפוחדים וחמדנים,
בלתי אפשרי לשלוט בהם.

לכן החכם נמנע מהטלת סמכות
ומנהיג בדוגמה, לא בכוח. 🪷

जब लोग मृत्यु से नहीं डरते,
तब उन्हें जीवन का जिम्मा सौंपा जा सकता है।

यदि लोग डर और लालच में हैं,
उन्हें नियंत्रित करना असंभव है।

इसलिए संत शक्ति लगाने से बचता है
और उदाहरण द्वारा नेतृत्व करता है, बल द्वारा नहीं। 🪷

Courage is born of knowing limits.
When one does not know limits,
one becomes reckless.

The sage does not provoke;
therefore he is never defeated.

Those who follow the way of Heaven
endure without conflict. 🪷

האומץ נולד מהכרת גבולות.
כאשר אדם אינו מכיר גבולות,
הוא הופך לפזיז.

החכם אינו מעורר תגר;
לכן הוא לעולם אינו מובס.

מי שעוקב אחר דרך השמים
סובל ללא עימות. 🪷

साहस सीमा जानने से जन्म लेता है।
जब कोई सीमाएँ नहीं जानता,
वह लापरवाह बन जाता है।

संत Provocation नहीं करता;
इसलिए वह कभी पराजित नहीं होता।

जो लोग स्वर्ग के मार्ग का पालन करते हैं,
संघर्ष के बिना टिकते हैं। 🪷

If people do not fear death,
how can you control them?
If people do not fear difficult times,
how can you govern them?

Therefore the sage keeps people aware of mortality
without alarming them,
and guides them gently without force. 🪷

אם אנשים אינם פוחדים מן המוות,
איך אפשר לשלוט בהם?
אם אנשים אינם פוחדים זמנים קשים,
איך אפשר להנהיג אותם?

לכן החכם שומר על מודעות המוות בקרב האנשים
מבלי להרתיע אותם,
ומנחה אותם בעדינות מבלי להשתמש בכוח. 🪷

यदि लोग मृत्यु से नहीं डरते,
तो आप उन्हें कैसे नियंत्रित करेंगे?
यदि लोग कठिन समय से नहीं डरते,
तो आप उन्हें कैसे शासन करेंगे?

इसलिए संत लोगों को मृत्यु के प्रति सजग रखते हैं
बिना भय दिखाए,
और उन्हें धीरे-धीरे बिना बल प्रयोग के मार्गदर्शन करते हैं। 🪷

People are born soft and weak;
dead they become stiff and hard.

All living things are soft and flexible in life;
dry and brittle in death.

Stiffness and strength belong to death.
Softness and gentleness belong to life.

Therefore a strong army cannot win
and a rigid tree easily breaks. 🪷

אנשים נולדים רכים וחלשים;
במוות הם נעשים קשים ונוקשים.

כל הדברים החיים רכים וגמישים בחיים;
קשים ושבירים במוות.

נוקשות וחוזק שייכים למוות.
רכות ורוך שייכים לחיים.

לכן צבא חזק לא ינצח
ועץ נוקשה נשבר בקלות. 🪷

लोग नरम और कमजोर पैदा होते हैं;
मरने पर कठोर और सख्त हो जाते हैं।

सभी जीवित चीजें जीवन में नरम और लचीली होती हैं;
मृत्यु में सूखी और भंगुर।

कठोरता और ताकत मृत्यु से संबंधित हैं।
कोमलता और विनम्रता जीवन से संबंधित हैं।

इसलिए एक मजबूत सेना जीत नहीं सकती
और कठोर पेड़ आसानी से टूट जाता है। 🪷

When people are born, they are soft and supple;
at death, they are hard and rigid.

All living things are soft and flexible in life;
dry and brittle in death.

Therefore the rigid and strong belong to death;
the soft and weak belong to life.

A soldier who is hard cannot endure;
a tree that is rigid easily breaks. 🪷

כאשר אנשים נולדים, הם רכים וגמישים;
במוות הם קשים ונוקשים.

כל היצורים החיים רכים וגמישים בחיים;
קשים ושבירים במוות.

לכן הקשה והחזק שייכים למוות;
הרך והחלש שייכים לחיים.

חייל קשה אינו יכול לעמוד;
עץ נוקשה נשבר בקלות. 🪷

जब लोग पैदा होते हैं, वे नरम और लचीले होते हैं;
मृत्यु पर वे कठोर और सख्त हो जाते हैं।

सभी जीवित चीजें जीवन में नरम और लचीली होती हैं;
मृत्यु में सूखी और भंगुर।

इसलिए कठोर और मजबूत मृत्यु से संबंधित हैं;
नरम और कमजोर जीवन से संबंधित हैं।

कठोर सैनिक टिक नहीं सकता;
कठोर पेड़ आसानी से टूट जाता है। 🪷

Heaven is long-lasting and Earth endures.
The reason Heaven and Earth last is they do not live for themselves.
Therefore they can last forever.

The sage puts himself last, and finds himself first.
He disregards self-interest, and his interest is preserved. 🪷

השמים נמשכים והארץ קיימת.
הסיבה שהשמים והארץ קיימים היא שהם אינם חיים לעצמם.
לכן הם יכולים להימשך לעד.

החכם שם את עצמו אחרון, ומוצא את עצמו ראשון.
הוא מתעלם מאינטרס עצמי, ואינטרס שלו נשמר. 🪷

स्वर्ग लंबे समय तक रहता है और पृथ्वी टिकाऊ है।
स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी लंबे समय तक टिकते हैं क्योंकि वे स्वयं के लिए नहीं रहते।
इसलिए वे हमेशा टिक सकते हैं।

संत खुद को पीछे रखता है, और पहले पाता है।
वह स्वार्थ को नजरअंदाज करता है, और उसका स्वार्थ सुरक्षित रहता है। 🪷

Nothing in the world is softer or weaker than water.
Yet for attacking the hard and strong, nothing is better.
The weak overcomes the strong, the soft overcomes the hard.
Everyone knows this but few put it into practice.

Therefore the sage says:
“I take no action and yet nothing is left undone.” 🪷

אין בעולם דבר רך או חלש יותר מהמים.
אך להתגבר על הקשוח והחזק — אין טוב יותר מהם.
החלש מנצח את החזק, הרך מנצח את הקשוח.
כולם יודעים זאת, אך מעטים מיישמים.

לכן החכם אומר:
"אני לא פועל, ועדיין אין דבר שלא נעשה." 🪷

इस दुनिया में कोई भी पानी जितना नरम या कमजोर नहीं है।
फिर भी कठोर और मजबूत पर आघात करने के लिए इससे बेहतर कुछ नहीं है।
कमजोर मजबूत को जीतता है, नरम कठोर को जीतता है।
हर कोई इसे जानता है लेकिन बहुत कम लोग इसे अभ्यास में लाते हैं।

इसलिए संत कहते हैं:
"मैं क्रिया नहीं करता और फिर भी कुछ भी अधूरा नहीं रहता।" 🪷

Nothing in the world is softer or weaker than water.

कमजोर मजबूत को जीतता है, नरम कठोर को जीतता है।
हर कोई इसे जानता है लेकिन बहुत कम लोग इसे अभ्यास में लाते हैं।

इसलिए संत कहते हैं:
"मैं क्रिया नहीं करता और फिर भी कुछ भी अधूरा नहीं रहता।" 🪷

Failure is the root of success.
Peace comes from harmony, not force.
Those who conquer themselves are strong.
Those who conquer others are mighty.

Therefore the sage does not seek glory,
yet nothing is left undone. 🪷

כישלון הוא שורש ההצלחה.
שלום נובע מההרמוניה, לא מהכוח.
מי שמנצח את עצמו חזק.
מי שמנצח אחרים עוצמתי.

לכן החכם אינו מחפש תהילה,
ועדיין אין דבר שלא נעשה. 🪷

असफलता सफलता की जड़ है।
शांति सामंजस्य से आती है, बल से नहीं।
जो स्वयं को जीतता है वह मजबूत है।
जो दूसरों को जीतता है वह शक्तिशाली है।

इसलिए संत महिमा नहीं ढूँढता,
फिर भी कुछ भी अधूरा नहीं रहता। 🪷

Small country, few people.
Even though they have tools and weapons,
they keep them unused.

Desire to travel is few.
Even though they have ships and carriages,
they rarely use them.

Knowledge and skill are minimal.
The people live in simple contentment.
They delight in eating, clothing, and shelter,
enjoy their customs, and take pleasure in their neighbors.
They value life without striving for more. 🪷

מדינה קטנה, מעט אנשים.
אף שיש להם כלים ונשק,
הם אינם משתמשים בהם.

רצון לנסוע מועט.
אף שיש להם ספינות ועגלות,
הם משתמשים בהם לעיתים רחוקות.

ידע וכישורים מועטים.
האנשים חיים בתוכן פשוט.
הם נהנים מאוכל, ביגוד ומקלט,
נהנים ממנהגים ושותפים לשכנותם.
הם מעריכים את החיים ללא מאבק נוסף. 🪷

छोटा देश, कम लोग।
भले ही उनके पास औज़ार और हथियार हों,
वे उनका उपयोग नहीं करते।

यात्रा करने की इच्छा कम है।
भले ही उनके पास जहाज और गाड़ियाँ हों,
वे उनका उपयोग कम ही करते हैं।

ज्ञान और कौशल न्यूनतम हैं।
लोग सरल संतोष में रहते हैं।
वे भोजन, वस्त्र और आवास का आनंद लेते हैं,
अपनी रीति-रिवाजों का पालन करते हैं और पड़ोसियों में प्रसन्नता पाते हैं।
वे अधिक पाने के लिए प्रयास किए बिना जीवन को महत्व देते हैं। 🪷

True words are not beautiful;
beautiful words are not true.

Good people do not argue;
those who argue are not good.

Those who know are not learned;
the learned do not know.

The sage does not hoard.
The more he helps others, the more he benefits himself.
The more he gives to others, the more he possesses. 🪷

מילים אמיתיות אינן יפות;
מילים יפות אינן אמיתיות.

אנשים טובים אינם מתווכחים;
אלו שמתווכחים אינם טובים.

מי שיודע אינו למד;
הלומד אינו יודע.

החכם אינו מצבור.
ככל שהוא מסייע לאחרים, כך הוא מרוויח לעצמו.
ככל שהוא נותן לאחרים, כך יש לו יותר. 🪷

सच्चे शब्द सुंदर नहीं होते;
सुंदर शब्द सच्चे नहीं होते।

अच्छे लोग बहस नहीं करते;
जो बहस करते हैं वे अच्छे नहीं होते।

जो जानता है वह शिक्षित नहीं है;
जो शिक्षित है वह नहीं जानता।

संत संग्रह नहीं करता।
जितना वह दूसरों की मदद करता है, उतना ही वह स्वयं लाभ पाता है।
जितना वह दूसरों को देता है, उतना ही उसका स्वामित्व बढ़ता है। 🪷
