6022 Summary
Year 6022 — The Age of Chaos
6022 was a year of chaos.
The world was flooded with news of the Russia-Ukraine War and escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. The United States was drawn deeper into the region as global trade routes and the Strait of Hormuz became increasingly unstable.
Much of the world now resists American dominance. Iran advances the interests of the BRICS nations by encouraging trade settlements in Chinese yuan and challenging the old financial order. Russia continues its struggle against NATO and the institutions that uphold the previous global system. Many nations in Africa increasingly align themselves with BRICS, believing they benefit more from a multipolar world than from Western-led structures.
The West increasingly blames Israel for its failures, yet Israel continues to rise in power and influence. Once mocked and dismissed, it has become one of the most desired destinations on Earth. Foreigners now spend enormous sums for the opportunity to live there. Israel attracts many of the world’s most ambitious and capable people while offering one of the highest standards of living available. Unlike much of the developed world, it maintains a strong birth rate. Its technology sector rivals or exceeds Silicon Valley in strategic importance. Militarily, economically, and politically, Israel has become one of the most resilient and influential nations in existence.
But beneath the surface, humanity is exhausted.
Artificial intelligence has introduced massive uncertainty into society. People increasingly avoid having children. Trust between neighbours and communities has deteriorated. Many believe modern capitalism has numbed the human spirit, reducing life to consumption, survival, and distraction.
At the same time, China continues to expand its influence economically and technologically. Some now view China’s system as a viable alternative to Western liberal capitalism, especially as living standards rise across parts of Asia. Even nations once criticized by the world, such as Dubai and Israel, continue to prosper.
A major transformation of the global economy is underway. AI increasingly generates more value than human labour. Many people feel economically obsolete, unable to compete with machines that surpass human productivity and intelligence. Movement between nations remains restricted, capital flows are controlled, and many feel trapped inside systems they no longer trust.
The global population has begun to decline in several regions. Meanwhile, India became the world’s most populous nation, accelerating demographic and cultural changes across the West. Whether this transformation will strengthen or weaken civilization remains uncertain.
There are still signs of unity and progress. Technologies such as USB C became universal standards connecting much of humanity through shared systems and infrastructure. Yet despite these achievements, the general mood of the age remains weary, fragmented, and uncertain.
Hope for the future feels increasingly difficult to maintain.
