What Are Your Units?

Time is my meditation. Today I began to think more deeply about how my brain perceives time. A question we ask in GPC is:

What are your units?

Here's a handy chart of each unit and the cyclical symbol that represents it:

The column on the left grounds us and instills upon us a cyclical perception of time. The column on the right has its place in the world, but too much reliance on them can cause us to become linear-minded.

What is the source of a cyclical mind? It is the sundial, and its rotation is based on the fact that the Earth revolves around the Sun. So, in the closed system of time, our largest unit and our smallest unit derive from the Sun. The linear mind—which is associated with the West—has no beginning; it is simply a mental regression. These minds need to heal so that we can return back to our point of origin and complete the 6,000-year cycle we're in.

I am going to structure this post according to Chinese "big to small" philosophy, beginning with our largest unit and working down to the smallest. This is how things were originally done in the Torah. This is how the French gave us our blessed metric system, which was designed according to the dimensions of the Earth—geodesic like Sumerian and Egyptian measures.

All of our cyclical symbols equally apply to Mars, which is the only other planet in our solar system with potential for human habitation. Thus, GPC has a sister system for that future endeavor.

Our largest unit is the year. This is the time it takes for the Earth to make one full rotation around the Sun. The same logic applies to Mars.

In China, East is associated with spring. Therefore, the compass represents the entire year. The 360° of the compass represents our days of the year.

There's only one verse in the Book of Enoch that teaches us to visually see time according to Chinese philosophy:

Enoch 82:11
Their four leaders who divide the four parts of the year enter first; and after them the twelve leaders of the orders who divide the months; and for the three hundred and sixty (days) there are heads over thousands who divide the days; and for the four intercalary days there are the leaders which sunder the four parts of the year.

This is the verse that tells us that the year should be seen as a compass with 4 cardinal directions and 360°.

How do we read the compass?

Fortunately, this is really intuitive. Just as the first hour of the day is at the top right side of the clock, so the first degree or day of the year is at the top right side. It is worth noting that mechanical clocks evolved directly from sundials, so their rotation is identical. The compass has a clockwise convention.

But what is our orientation?

Fortunately, the Book of Enoch also teaches us to be East-oriented. Since the year begins in the spring, we can naturally deduce that East is associated with spring, just like in Chinese philosophy. Here is the verse:

Enoch 76:2
Three of them are open on the face (i.e. the east) of the heavens, and three in the west, and three on the right (i.e. the south) of the heaven, and three on the left (i.e. the north).

The country Yemen gets its name because it is Yamin—on the right or south side of Israel if you're facing East.

By using the compass as a symbol for the year, time and space are connected. Likewise, in metric weight and volume, two seemingly different things have a strong correlation. In this way, order is restored in the universe.

There is no doubt that Judaism's East-oriented tendency comes from the Torah, but why is that the case? What is the purpose? Does any advantage exist? Well, we're talking about it now. The Torah's East orientation lends itself to the Book of Enoch, which prophesied the coming of Moses generations before his birth. Even the direction of prayer is proof of a 364-day perennial calendar. East is spring, but team lunar starts their year in the fall.

We have covered our two largest units: the year and season. Our third unit is the most interesting. Most languages associate the month with the Moon. Hebrew gets its direction of writing from the Moon, which waxes and wanes from right to left. But Earth's wife, Mars, has two moons that complete their rotations daily. The existence of Mars—which has beneficial gravity, a 24-hour tetrad, and day and night similar to Earth—draws mankind to solar supremacy.

Native American tribes have two symbols for the month: one being the Moon and the other the turtle, which some actually use by treating its shell as a calendar. This is the real monthly symbol. Across cultures, the turtle is the embodiment of perfect time management. Turtles, like pigeons or doves, are homing creatures that return to their point of origin. This instills upon us a cyclical mind. Observe how it moves with intention and is thus a sign of wisdom.

The ancient Qumranites, from whom GPC resurrected its calendar, created a sundial so perfect that they could track the day of the year, day of the month, and day of the week all with one instrument. The instrument itself was modeled after a turtle shell. So even in the land of Israel, turtles are the embodiment of perfect time management.

Our next unit is the Heptad. GPC has two words for week: Heptad refers to the 52 weeks of the year for organizing yearlies, while Septet refers to the seven days of the week for organizing weeklies. A human being has 52 teeth (milk teeth plus permanent teeth) in a circular mouth over the course of a lifespan. We are the only species like this because humans are the heirs of time management.

Modern man has become linear, and so now he has an illness of the mind and can't understand what separates people from animals. Is it speech? But animals can communicate with each other. Maybe it's tools or our thumbs? They really are confused. It's time management. Hindus and Jews both agree that people are above and not equal to animals, though it is our responsibility to use our intellect for their benefit. Time management is the single thing that distinguishes us. But what about people who can't manage time? Well, I think we'll end the discussion there. Of course, our playing cards are a mini 364-day perennial calendar, with two jokers representing intercalary weeks on sabbatical years included—all thanks to the Gypsies, Europe's persecuted Aryan minorities.

Up next: the Septet. This unit is the most controversial unit we have, and we'll explore why. GPC has a seam built into it, since the year begins on the 4th day (a Wednesday). As a result, every seventh day of the year falls on a Tuesday. Every single modern attempt at implementing a 364-day perennial calendar chose to start the year on either a Sunday or a Monday. This eliminates the seam, depending on which day you consider to be the first day of the week.

However, every successful historical implementation chose midweek to start the year, our two examples being Israel and Iceland. Most people see the seam as an inefficiency. The symbol for the seam is the Menorah.

Exodus 25:32
Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other.

If the six branches are the six days of the week, then the center is the Sabbath. This creates a loop, enforcing a cyclical view. There are other advantages to the seam. It forces two weekly conventions:

  1. Priestly linear weekly convention: Running Sunday to Saturday
  2. Secular cyclical weekly convention: Running Wednesday to Tuesday

Some businesses do scheduling Wednesday to Tuesday to align with payroll. This avoids banking hassles on the weekend and eliminates so much stress and anxiety. As crazy as it sounds, this may be the entire purpose of the seam and why the calendar is structured this way. Aside from that, interesting patterns emerge that would otherwise be impossible with a Sunday start.

We have 7 vertebrae in our cervical spine, which is where we feel stress. The origin of human stress is typically poor time management.

Now, the same chapter that discusses the Menorah also describes a 5-petal almond blossom on each branch of the Menorah. Thus, the almond blossom 🌸 can be used as either a cyclical symbol for the work week or a less religious, more secular alternative symbol to the Menorah.

GPC uses this emoji 🌺 for Friday, which comes from the Hawaiian Aloha Friday.

The only symbol in existence for the Tetrad is the Ashoka Chakra. That is the wheel in the center of the Indian flag. Ashoka, whose legacy never dies, laid the groundwork for India being what it is.

Similar to the Ashoka Chakra or wheel of time, our cyclical symbol for the 12-hour day and night is the familiar analogue watch.

Just as an hour hand exists on the clock, so do our phalanges represent the hours of the day and night. Each finger is one pahar—1/8th of a tetrad or 24-hour day. Two fingers equal one daypart or quarter of the tetrad (i.e., morning, afternoon, evening, deep night). Our fingers can also be used for seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4). Everything aligns neatly.

Do I count the hours of the day beginning with my pinky or index finger? Top to bottom or bottom to top?

Index—top to bottom, fingerprint to knuckle, since pulling is easier than pushing. Here's why:

  1. Big to small philosophy
  2. The clock exercise

The clock exercise is the most effective tool for understanding and teaching Sun time. Like in Ethiopia, GPC starts its day at 1 on the mechanical clock. That is our 7:00 AM.

Try this: Take off your watch and hold it in one palm. With the opposite hand, take two fingers representing one daypart:

  • Cover the left side of the watch so that it now looks like a waxing moon 🌔. That's morning.
  • Cover the right side of the watch so that it now looks like a waning moon 🌖. That's afternoon.
  • Cover the left side of the watch so that it now looks like a waxing moon 🌔. That's evening.
  • Cover the right side of the watch so that it now looks like a waning moon 🌖. That's deep night.

You now understand the full tetrad in GPC and are fully in line with the universe as the dominant species of our solar system.

  1. Convención semanal lineal sacerdotal: De domingo a sábado
  2. Convención semanal cíclica secular: De miércoles a martes

He aquí por qué:

  1. Filosofía de lo grande a lo pequeño
