The Gezer calendar is a small limestone tablet with an early Canaanite inscription discovered in 1908 by Irish archaeologist R. A. Stewart Macalister in the ancient city of Gezer, 30 kilometres west of Jerusalem. It is commonly dated to the 10th century BCE.

I'm finally getting around to this horrible job that was done with the Gezer Calendar. OMG there is so much brainwashing here how do we decode? First off the translation is mostly accurate only it should say “moon” not “month”. Unlike most languages the word month and moon have no linguistic connection in Hebrew.
Now the Jewish Calendar which the state of Israel is trying to push is lunar-solar so a connection does exist. Btw it comes from the Greek Seleucid Empire and is not indigenous to Canaan. Which we shall prove.
The word yareach ירח literally “moon” is used in every line. It's obvious that the Gezer Calendar is just a moon list. In fact the Obsidian Main File which is currently GPCversionIV.zip has the moons preloaded onto it. This made it easy for me to understand this ancient inscription. Why do I need a moon list? Because I use an ancient solar calendar adapted to secular use. The Rabanites don't have this problem. Interestingly in the Dead Sea Scrolls the Qumranites also had a full moon list. This was one of the first evidences of a solar calendar. If they were using a lunar-solar calendar they wouldn't need a moon list would they?
Note: I adopted the term Rabanite from Karaite Judaism for academic purposes. It's better than full on Dead Sea Scroll terminology “sons of darkness”.
You can ride an Electric Unicycle and pay nothing in fuel, avoid traffic, insurance and the need to look for parking. Or you can haul groceries with a car. Can't have both. Same is true with Calendars. In GPC we sacrifice harmony with the moon for accuracy, harmony with the weekly cycle, improved logistics and advanced technology light years ahead of everyone else. It is as true 2,000 years ago as it is today.

I'm not fond of American culture but I did adopt their moon list which was mostly adopted from Native Americans. Let's go through it together line by line. Doing this we can compare the ancient lives of Native Americans to that of Qumranites and well even the Rabanites. I'm seeking peace and harmony and trying to avoid our calendars wars which is described in the very first page of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the Damascus Document.

This is equivalent to the Harvest Moon and the Hunters Moon. Harvest Moon is closest to autumn equinox.
Psalm 104:19
He made the moon to mark the seasons,
and the sun knows when to go down.
This verse is referring to the appointed times of the vernal and autumnal equinoxes when the moon serves as a witness to the season as established by the sun alone.
Enoch 1 tells us that two times a year the moon changes its course to set with the sun through the same gate.
The Sun only rises due east and sets due west on 2 days of the year — the spring and fall equinoxes!
Can You Watch the Sunset and Moonrise at the Same Time?
The best chance to witness the phenomenon is when the moon is full nearest the vernal (spring) and autumnal (fall) equinoxes. That's because the moonrise is closest to due east and sets closest to due west on those dates. When the moon is full at these times of year, it's just about directly opposite the sun in the sky as it sets.
These two moons are referred to as:

The Hunters Moon is when deer are fully grown. My beloved Indian friends, I mean from Bharat are appalled when I speak of animal flesh. I avoid the topic altogether but you can see the problem. Hebraic and American culture are saturated in it.

This corresponds to the Beaver Moon and the Cold Moon. Beavers are actually important because they literally observe the Sabbath and yes they keep a lunar calendar. They're animals! They start building their homes at this time. Native Americans call the next one the Cold Moon because well it's cold! I don't miss mainland America at all.

OMG I can't believe I still know how to read Paleo Hebrew. The Wolf moon is called such because of the howling of wolves at this time. Both the Native Americans and Anglo-Saxons use this term. Wow. Way different from our caffeine addicted TikTok generation. The term Snow Moon describes heavy snow fall at this time. More Native American culture. Is this a Syncretism?

The March full moon is called the Worm Moon because of the emergence of earthworms as the ground thaws in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere. Again from Native Americans. In Canada the tribes call it Sugar Moon, marking the time for maple tree sap harvesting and the Anishinaabe new year. Hey this moon is closest full moon to the GPC New Year. What a coincidence.

Native Americans call it the Pink Moon because this is when you see pink flowers. It's the barley harvest over in Israel at this time. I wonder if pink flowers also show up in Israel at this time?

The Flower Moon is called such because this month has the most vibrant number of flowers. Think Mayflower.

The Strawberry Moon is called such because Native Americans didn't want to forget to harvest these June fruits. In GPC I used the strawberry as a symbol for all updates to the Obsidian Main File program. The LOG queried all updates by scanning for the strawberry 🍓 emoji. Why? Because just as GPC starts its week with the creation of the sun on Wednesday in accordance with the Menorah so does the Qumran Sundial start the year in June or Quadsum — the fourth month with the summer solstice. The number four is significant.
The Buck Moon is called such because it coincides with the time of year when male deer, or bucks, are growing their antlers, and this observation was adopted and named by Native American tribes.

The Sturgeon Moon name originates from the Algonquin tribes in what is now the northeastern United States. They referred to this full moon in August as such because it coincided with the time when sturgeons were abundant and easily caught during the late summer season.
As you can see the weather in Israel has little to no similarity to the United States and Europe. America is proof of manifesting. Germanic tribes seeking freedom ended up colonizing the other side of the world with similar weather. The Iberian Europeans that actually lived around palm trees colonized the part of America where palm trees can grow.
Well this blog post hopefully shed some light on the importance of tracking moon cycles in three different cultures (5 if you distinguish Jewish sects). Hopefully it also helped to shed light on the true indigenous calendar of Canaan. Honestly myself personally, religion, identity… when do these things ever improve our world? I just want to live on a more efficient planet that respects our environment. I've used that lunar-solar calendar for far too long. There's a reason the Saudis went solar. It's more efficient and Peace IS efficiency.

סוף סוף הגעתי לעבודה הנוראה שנעשתה עם לוח גזר. יש כאן כל כך הרבה שטיפת מוח — איך מפענחים? ראשית, התרגום ברובו מדויק, רק שצריך לומר “ירח” ולא “חודש”. בניגוד לרוב השפות, בעברית אין קשר לשוני בין חודש לירח.
הלוח היהודי שמדינת ישראל מנסה לקדם הוא ירחי־שמשי, ולכן כן קיים חיבור. אגב, הוא מגיע מהאימפריה הסלאוקית היוונית ואינו ילידי לכנען. וזה מה שנוכיח.

אפשר לראות שקיעה וזריחת ירח באותו זמן?
הסיכוי הטוב ביותר הוא כשהירח מלא הקרוב לשיוויון האביב והסתיו. אז זריחת הירח קרובה ביותר למזרח ושקיעתו למערב. כשהירח מלא בזמנים האלה הוא כמעט ממול לשמש כשהיא שוקעת.

לא מאמין שאני עדיין קורא עברית פליאו. ירח הזאב נקרא כך בגלל יללת הזאבים. גם הילידים וגם האנגלו־סקסים משתמשים במונח. שונה מאוד מדור הטיקטוק המכור לקפאין. ירח השלג מתאר שלג כבד. עוד תרבות ילידית. האם זו סינקרטיזם?

ירח מלא של מרץ נקרא ירח התולעת כי תולעי האדמה יוצאות כשהקרקע מפשירה בחצי הכדור הצפוני. שוב מהילידים. בקנדה השבטים קוראים לו ירח הסוכר, זמן איסוף שרף האדר וראש השנה של האנישינאבה. הירח הזה הוא המלא הקרוב ביותר לראש השנה של GPC. איזה צירוף מקרים.

ירח התות נקרא כך כי הילידים לא רצו לשכוח לקטוף את פירות יוני. ב־GPC השתמשתי בתות כסמל לכל עדכון לקובץ Obsidian הראשי. הלוג חיפש עדכונים לפי האימוג׳י 🍓. למה? כי כשם ש־GPC פותח את השבוע בבריאת השמש ביום רביעי לפי המנורה, כך שעון השמש של קומראן פותח את השנה ביוני או Quadsum — החודש הרביעי עם נקודת ההיפוך של הקיץ. המספר ארבע משמעותי.
ירח האייל נקרא כך כי הוא חופף לזמן שבו לאיילים הזכרים צומחות קרניים, והתצפית הזו אומצה וקיבלה שם משבטי הילידים.

ירח אחד של פרי קיץ
שם ירח החדקן מגיע משבטי האלגונקין בצפון־מזרח ארצות הברית של היום. הם קראו לירח המלא באוגוסט כך כי הוא חפף לזמן שבו חדקנים היו בשפע ונקלו בקלות בסוף הקיץ.
אפשר לראות שמזג האוויר בישראל כמעט אינו דומה לארצות הברית ולאירופה. אמריקה היא הוכחה להתממשות. שבטים גרמניים שחיפשו חירות התיישבו בצד השני של העולם עם מזג אוויר דומה. האיברים שחיו בין דקלים התיישבו בחלק אמריקה שבו דקלים יכולים לגדול.
הפוסט הזה מקווה להאיר את חשיבות מעקב מחזורי הירח בשלוש תרבויות שונות (חמש אם מבחינים בין כתות יהודיות). ומקווה גם להאיר את הלוח הילידי האמיתי של כנען. בכנות, דת, זהות… מתי הדברים האלה בכלל משפרים את העולם? אני רק רוצה לחיות על כוכב יעיל יותר שמכבד את הסביבה. השתמשתי בלוח הירחי־שמשי יותר מדי זמן. יש סיבה שהסעודים עברו לשמשי. זה יעיל יותר, ושלום הוא יעילות.

आखिरकार गेज़र पंचांग पर हुई इस खराब व्याख्या तक पहुँचा। यहाँ इतनी धुलाई है — कैसे खोलें? पहले, अनुवाद अधिकतर सही है, बस “महीना” नहीं “चंद्र” कहना चाहिए। अधिकांश भाषाओं के विपरीत इब्रानी में महीना और चंद्र का भाषाई संबंध नहीं है।
अब यहूदी पंचांग जिसे इस्राएल राज्य बढ़ावा देता है चंद्र-सौर है इसलिए संबंध बन जाता है। वैसे यह यूनानी सेल्यूकिद साम्राज्य से आता है और कनान का देशज नहीं। यही हम सिद्ध करेंगे।
शब्द यारेअह ירח शाब्दिक “चंद्र” हर पंक्ति में है। साफ़ है कि गेज़र पंचांग केवल चंद्र-सूची है। वास्तव में ऑब्सिडियन मुख्य फ़ाइल, अभी GPCversionIV.zip, में चंद्र पहले से लदे हैं। इसी से यह लेख समझ में आया। चंद्र-सूची क्यों चाहिए? क्योंकि मैं प्राचीन सौर पंचांग का लौकिक उपयोग करता हूँ। रब्बानियों को यह समस्या नहीं। दिलचस्प बात: मृत सागर स्क्रॉल में क़ुमरानियों के पास भी पूर्ण चंद्र-सूची थी। यह सौर पंचांग के पहले प्रमाणों में था। यदि वे चंद्र-सौर पंचांग चलाते तो चंद्र-सूची की क्या जरूरत?
नोट: मैंने अकादमिक हेतु कराइत यहूदी धर्म से “रब्बानी” शब्द लिया। मृत सागर शब्दावली “अंधकार के पुत्र” से बेहतर है।
आप विद्युत यूनिसिकल चला सकते हैं — ईंधन शून्य, जाम नहीं, बीमा नहीं, पार्किंग की खोज नहीं। या कार से किराना ढो सकते हैं। दोनों एक साथ नहीं। पंचांग भी ऐसे ही। GPC में हम चंद्र से मेल का त्याग करते हैं सटीकता, साप्ताहिक चक्र से मेल, बेहतर रसद और बाकी से प्रकाश-वर्ष आगे की तकनीक के लिए। यह 2,000 वर्ष पहले भी सत्य था, आज भी है।

यह पद वसंत और शरद विषुव के नियत समयों की बात करता है जब चंद्र केवल सूर्य द्वारा स्थिर ऋतु का साक्षी होता है।
हनोक 1 कहता है वर्ष में दो बार चंद्र मार्ग बदलकर सूर्य के साथ उसी द्वार से अस्त होता है।
सूर्य वर्ष में केवल दो दिन ठीक पूर्व उदय और ठीक पश्चिम अस्त होता है — वसंत और शरद विषुव!
क्या सूर्यास्त और चंद्रोदय एक साथ देख सकते हैं?
सबसे अच्छा अवसर तब है जब चंद्र विषुवों के निकटतम पूर्ण हो। तब चंद्रोदय पूर्व के सबसे निकट और अस्त पश्चिम के निकट होता है। इन समयों पर पूर्ण चंद्र अस्त होते सूर्य के लगभग ठीक सामने होता है।
ये दो चंद्र कहलाते हैं:

Por fin llego a este trabajo horrible que se hizo con el Calendario de Guézer. Hay tanto lavado de cerebro: ¿cómo decodificar? Primero, la traducción es en su mayoría exacta; solo debería decir “luna” y no “mes”. A diferencia de la mayoría de las lenguas, en hebreo mes y luna no tienen conexión lingüística.
Ahora el calendario judío que el Estado de Israel intenta imponer es lunisolar, así que sí hay conexión. Por cierto, viene del Imperio seléucida griego y no es indígena de Canaán. Lo demostraremos.
La palabra yareaj ירח, literalmente “luna”, aparece en cada línea. Es obvio que el Calendario de Guézer es solo una lista de lunas. De hecho el archivo principal de Obsidian, ahora GPCversionIV.zip, ya trae las lunas precargadas. Por eso me fue fácil entender la inscripción. ¿Por qué necesito una lista de lunas? Porque uso un calendario solar antiguo adaptado al uso secular. Los rabanitas no tienen ese problema. Curiosamente, en los Rollos del Mar Muerto los de Qumrán también tenían una lista de lunas llenas. Fue una de las primeras evidencias de un calendario solar. Si usaran uno lunisolar no necesitarían una lista de lunas, ¿verdad?
Nota: Adopté el término rabanita del judaísmo caraíta con fines académicos. Es mejor que la terminología de los Rollos “hijos de las tinieblas”.
Puedes ir en monociclo eléctrico y no pagar combustible, evitar tráfico, seguro y buscar aparcamiento. O llevar la compra en coche. No se puede tener las dos. Lo mismo con los calendarios. En GPC sacrificamos la armonía con la luna por exactitud, armonía con el ciclo semanal, mejor logística y tecnología a años luz de los demás. Era cierto hace 2.000 años y lo es hoy.

No me encanta la cultura estadounidense pero sí adopté su lista de lunas, tomada en su mayoría de los nativos americanos. Vamos línea por línea. Así comparamos la vida antigua de nativos, qumranitas e incluso rabanitas. Busco paz y armonía y evitar las guerras de calendario descritas en la primera página de los Rollos del Mar Muerto en el Documento de Damasco.

Equivale a la Luna de la Cosecha y la Luna de los Cazadores. La de la Cosecha es la más cercana al equinoccio de otoño.
Salmo 104:19
Hizo la luna para señalar las estaciones,
y el sol sabe cuándo ponerse.
El versículo habla de los tiempos señalados de los equinoccios de primavera y otoño, cuando la luna testifica la estación que solo el sol establece.
Enoc 1 dice que dos veces al año la luna cambia de rumbo y se pone con el sol por la misma puerta.
El sol solo sale justo por el este y se pone justo por el oeste dos días al año: los equinoccios de primavera y otoño.
¿Se puede ver la puesta de sol y la salida de la luna a la vez?
La mejor ocasión es cuando la luna llena está más cerca de los equinoccios. Entonces sale lo más cerca del este y se pone lo más cerca del oeste. Con luna llena en esas fechas está casi justo opuesta al sol al ponerse.
Esas dos lunas se llaman:

La luna llena de marzo se llama Luna del Gusano porque salen las lombrices al deshelarse el suelo en gran parte del hemisferio norte. Otra vez de los nativos. En Canadá las tribus la llaman Luna del Azúcar, tiempo de savia de arce y año nuevo anishinaabe. Esta luna es la llena más cercana al Año Nuevo GPC. Qué coincidencia.

Porque igual que GPC empieza la semana con la creación del sol el miércoles según la Menorá, el reloj de sol de Qumrán empieza el año en junio o Quadsum — el cuarto mes, con el solsticio de verano. El número cuatro importa.
La Luna del Ciervo se llama así porque coincide con cuando los ciervos macho crecen astas, observación que adoptaron y nombraron las tribus nativas.

Una luna de fruto de verano
El nombre Luna del Esturión viene de las tribus algonquinas del actual noreste de Estados Unidos. Llamaron así a la luna llena de agosto porque coincidía con cuando los esturiones abundaban y se pescaban fácil a finales del verano.
Como se ve, el clima de Israel casi no se parece al de Estados Unidos y Europa. América es prueba de manifestación. Tribus germánicas que buscaban libertad acabaron colonizando el otro lado del mundo con clima similar. Los europeos ibéricos que vivían entre palmeras colonizaron la parte de América donde las palmeras pueden crecer.
Ojalá esta entrada aclare la importancia de seguir los ciclos lunares en tres culturas distintas (cinco si se distinguen sectas judías). Y ojalá aclare el verdadero calendario indígena de Canaán. Con sinceridad, religión, identidad… ¿cuándo mejoran el mundo? Solo quiero vivir en un planeta más eficiente que respete el entorno. Usé ese calendario lunisolar demasiado tiempo. Hay una razón por la que los saudíes pasaron al solar. Es más eficiente y la Paz ES eficiencia.
